to Madroño, El Presidente
Exit
Malaga Airport hire-car car-park, straight across the first roundabout,
keeping to the right slip
road, do not go over the flyover, and bear right onto the dual
carriageway, N-340, passing the runway on your right. After approximately
one mile take the slip road to the right for Benalmadena / Algeciras
/ Cadiz, not Malaga Town Centre, on the E-15 / A7 and join the
dual-carriage way that will lead to Marbella. You can continue
on this coast road all the way following the signs firstly to
Fuengirola and then Marbella or when it becomes a motorway /
Toll-road, AP-7, (sign-posted just for Marbella) take that (this
will save you about fifteen minutes and costs between £2
to £4 depending on the time of year). Both roads rejoin
at Marbella so the choice is yours, at which point though you
should not re-join the toll-road but stay on the N-340 / A7.
You will by-pass Marbella and continue onto Puerto Banus and
San Pedro heading towards Estepona. Having gone through San Pedro
you will pass under a large stone “Marbella” sign
above the dual-carriage-way. After a further 3/4 mile and a S-bend
you will see on the left the blue and gold sign for El Presidente.
As it is on the other side of the road you have to drive down
to the next junction (these are called Cambio de Sentido) signposted
to "B.Cancelada", where you are able to cross over
the road, and come back up. As soon as you pass the “Robin
Hood” pub you will come to the entrance to El Presidente
at Km 168.
As you come off the dual carriageway and enter the complex you should head
towards the sea and go straight across the roundabout, down the slope onto
the Avenida de Almeria. Drive past the trees and the first block, then
passing on your right the two ramps leading to the owners’ underground
car parks. Approximately 100 metres further on there are some parking spaces
on your right where you can park. If you get to the bottom of this road
you will have gone slightly too far!
Our apartment, where we live, “Madrono 1&2” (Block B1), is
30 metres along the path that goes in to the complex (the semi-circular line
above Blocks B0 to B4) and which is to the right of the road as you face the
sea. The building, “Madrono”, is the first one on the left (the
corner) with a swimming pool to the right and the entrance to our apartment
is at Number 2, which is on the ground floor to the right and below the stairs.
Please do not get confused by the adjacent block, “Lluvia de Oro”,
that has the numbers 01 to 010!!
I hope that this makes sense, and although it might seem complicated it really
is a very easy and direct journey to our apartment as you are essentially only
travelling on one road, the N-340/A-7. Another tip is to follow the purple
road signs for the Marriott as it is almost next door to us!
